Christopher Brooks devotes his practice primarily to financially distressed situations, creditors’ rights, commercial transactions, and service as outside general counsel and litigation counsel for organizations of all sizes and structures.
Specific representation includes the counsel of national and local lending institutions, quasi-state and governmental agencies, trade creditors, developers, corporations, and other interest holders in all aspects of organization, operation, and litigation (including representation in Chapter 11 reorganizations, Chapter 7 liquidations, Chapter 13 wage earner cases, forcible entry and detainer actions, commercial workouts, foreclosures, collection, financing, and conveyancing); resolution of shareholder/stakeholder disputes in closely-held companies; company and asset acquisitions and sales; and definition of property rights and litigation related thereto.
Christopher Brooks and his wife Leah split their time between Portland’s West End and the mountains of western Maine.
