Kelly Hoffman is an ardent trial attorney, who helps individuals and businesses with a wide range of litigation matters. Her practice includes employment and discrimination matters, insurance defense and subrogation, professional liability defense, business defense and prosecution, OSHA compliance and investigations, family matters, and tax concerns. Kelly is a frequent presenter at seminars conducted for insurance companies, hospitals, educational facilities, employers, attorneys, educators, and medical professionals on matters of employment, ethics, risk management, and professional liability. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, she was listed in New England Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, an honor bestowed upon only 2.5 percent of her peers. In 2014, Kelly achieved Martindale Hubbell’s highest peer achievement rating (BV® Distinguished™) for a lawyer who has been admitted to the bar from 5-9 years.
Kelly is fluent in German and speaks Polish. Prior to joining Norman, Hanson & DeTroy, she was a summer associate at the law firm of Hausmaninger Kletter in Vienna, Austria, where she assisted multi-national corporations with the resolution of contract disputes and participated in international arbitration.
While in law school, Kelly was a member of the Moot Court Board and was honored for writing the Best Respondent’s Brief. Additionally, she was an editor of the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal and is the author of an article about the international debate surrounding alewives and the use of shared fishing ladders by Canada and the United States, which was published in the Journal.
At Johns Hopkins University, Kelly had the honor of being an aide to Senator John W. Warner of Virginia. She also was the goal keeper for both the field hockey and lacrosse teams. She is a record-holding athlete who was honored as an All-American in field hockey. She continues her love of field hockey today as the head coach of the Waynflete School’s field hockey team.
