Lance Walker prevails in Admiralty and Maritime trial in U.S. District Court
Lance represented Caldwell Marine Electronics in a multiple-party, federal court trial in Portland, Maine. The Plaintiffs, represented by a Boston firm, owned a 42-foot lobster boat which sank off Portland Head in Casco Bay after an explosion and fire originating from the engine room. Plaintiffs alleged that the vessel was rendered unseaworthy based in part on the repairs Caldwell Marine Electronics made to the electronic control module and other associated components to the diesel engine a few days before the incident. The evidence was introduced over the course of a week, at the conclusion of which the court entered judgment in favor of Defendant Caldwell Marine Electronics.
